Paddle Power Terms & Conditions

  • Please note: A. No-shows on the day forfeit their booking and constitute a 100% cancellation fee. Arriving 20 minutes or more after the advised meet and/or sign in time (late) constitutes a “no-show” and 100% cancellation fee. Late-comers will be left behind to keep to trip schedules.
  • During the rainy season, the lead guide makes the call on the safety of the trip due to high water levels. If too dangerous to do the trip, your trip will be postponed to a later date. You will be notified on the morning/night before of potential postponement but this call can be made up until we’re about to start the trip. In the case of light rain, your trip will continue (you get wet on the river in any case). In the case of thunder, the trip is delayed by 20-30 mins until the thunder passes as is typical in Highveld Thunderstorms.
  • Drinking alcohol before or on the trip, or being under the influence of any substances, is prohibited. The lead guide can and will make the call to remove any person off the trip for the safety and experience of the rest of the group. No refunds will be allowed.
  • Paddle Power is a licensed venue with an onsite restaurant and bar. No alcohol is allowed to be brought onsite. Corkage per bottle will be charged for all open bottles. Kindly support the restaurant and bar.
  1. All activity details shall be confirmed in writing not less than (7) seven business days before the start of the activity which include, but are not limited to, final number of adventurers, requirements and services. Quoted amounts will be applicable in the event of any decreases. An increase in numbers will be charged according to the quoted per person rate.
  2. Payment schedule involves 50% of the quoted amount receipted within 7 days of accepting the quotation (“initial deposit”) and the remaining 50% of the quoted amount receipted by and no later than 2 weeks prior to the activity date (“remaining balance”). If the activity date falls within 2 weeks of the quote date, 100% of the quoted amount receipted within 3 days of accepting the quotation.
  3. Payments and Deposits are non-refundable. Any changes must be approved in writing 48 hours before the set activity date. Failure to do so constitutes 100% cancellation fee.   4. Rescheduling trips can only be done with written approval from Paddle Power management. Payments can be used as credits only within the same season and must be booked for the trip to take place within 6 months of the original booking date, at Paddle Power’s discretion. Credits not used within this time period will be lost and are not refundable. It is the responsibility of the client to reschedule their activity in order to use their credit.
  5. The client acknowledges that it has read and accepted the agreed Terms and Conditions as it appears on our website. The Parties record that the Terms and Conditions form a material and integral part of this Agreement. Any payment made towards this quote/estimate reflects acceptance of this agreement.

Paddle Power Adventures CC strives to provide you with a fun adventure in a controlled and safe environment. Our Guides are highly trained and experienced. It is your responsibility to pay close attention to all instructions and ask questions where necessary.

Every client 18 years and older participating in Paddle Power activities, is required to sign this indemnity form. An adult responsible for a minor participating in Paddle Power Activities is required to complete the relevant sections and sign on his/her behalf. This form is valid from the time you / your children enter any venue that PADDLE POWER is utilising on any given day / night.

This form certifies that all personnel associated with PADDLE POWER (the Proprietor), Landlords, Property Owners, Employees or Agents of the sites that PADDLE POWER may utilise, are not legally liable, nor financially responsible, for injury, illness, death or damage, loss or theft to your property. PADDLE POWER and its associates take no legal, nor financial responsibility for any injuries, illness, death or damages that you / your children may incur whilst in transit from, or to any launch or exit site on any trip.

By signing the indemnity form presented before your activity, you understand and accept that you and/or minor children on whose behalf you are signing will be participating in adventure activities which by their very nature carry certain risks which may result in injury, illness or death, and hereby:

  • Indemnify the Proprietor and all those mentioned above against any claims which may arise from whatever nature, whether arising from the Proprietor’s default, negligence or otherwise.
  • Agree to abide by all instructions given by Paddle Power Guides and authorized personnel.
  • Inform the Lead Guide of any pre-existing medical condition or allergies, and that you are responsible for bringing any medication you may need during Paddle Power activities. It is your responsibility to consult your doctor prior to participation should you have a pre-existing medical condition or are pregnant.
  • You declare that you / your children are physically fit to participate in your chosen activity/ies.
  • Understand that you / your children as a client may elect to withdraw from an activity without expectation of a refund.
  • Paddle Power reserves the right to refuse your/your children’s participation in activities should you be deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Alcohol & illegal substances may not be used before or during any Paddle Power activities.
  • Children under the age of 12 may participate in Paddle Power river rafting subject to the Lead Guide’s authorization.
  • Children must be 12 years or older to participate in abseiling. No-one under the age of 16 may participate in Crossbow.
  • All valuables are to be locked in your vehicle and not to be taken on the river. We do allow clients to take a Mobile phone or GoPro or Waterproof Camera at their own risk. These are stored in the Guide’s dry box and dry bag.
  • Paddle Power reserves the right to take photos / videos during the activities, for marketing purposes.
